The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre is a 936-bed tertiary care facility.

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre is the " Diamond of Healthcare in Saudi Arabia". It is a Magnet Accredited Hospital.
Opening 400 new beds in October 2014. The King Abdullah Cancer and Liver diseases center is looking for staff for the expansion.

One of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre's signature service is in the area of transplants, performing on average, three transplants every 48 hours. Bone Marrow transplants were carried out and this held King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre's position among the top ranking institutions internationally with respect to the number of paediatric bone marrow transplants.

KFSH & RC treats approximately 30% of cancer patients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as 70% of Paediatric cases.

KFSH & RC is ranked among the top three (3) centres in the world by the number of cases; as it relates to Medical genetics

In the area of Neurosciences, they have established comprehensive Epiplepsy programme.

The Hospital and Research Centre has a total staff of 6,946, comprising 63 different nationalities.

The Medical Staff: including Saudi Residents and Fellows, totals 703, 46% of whom are expatriates (including 16% U.S./Canadian and 11% European) and 54% of whom are Saudis.
DescriptionClinical Responsibilities:
-Provides required patient care and management in the field of Cardiac Surgery, in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by KFSH & RC.
-Provides Cardiac Surgery care to patients with medical and surgical conditions.
-Assumes responsibility for patients under his care. Liaises with various support service departments and medical specializations to provide appropriate and timely medical care, in accordance with the standards laid down by KFSH & RC.
-Complies with all hospital standards and policies pertaining to acceptance, eligibility, admission processes, consultation, daily patient care, operating room, outpatient practices, and patient discharge.
-Admits patients, initiates investigations and ensures findings are recorded. Assesses patients' diseases or conditions to determine appropiate therapeutic modalities/ procedures.
-Conducts ward rounds as per policy and reassesses inpatients under care. Documents findings in medical records.
-Ensures appropriate patient preparation for procedures/ surgery and performs procedures/ surgery as indicated in the signed clinical privilege form.
-Follows up on investigation results for inpatients and outpatients and modifies treatment accordingly.
-Attends speciality clinics, outpatient clinics, day surgical units, day medical units, special procedures,treatment areas and shares on- call schedule as per requirements.
-Performs any other clinical responsibilities, as assigned.

Academic Responsibilities
-Directs and advices junior staff on patient management, especially in the field.
-Guides and actively participates in the training and teaching of Residents, Fellows, Assists Consultants and junior staff.
-Keeps abreast with all the latest techniques and developments, especially in field of Cardiac Surgery following and implementing them on a selective basis to improve technical standards.
-Actively participates in the educational activities and training programs of the Institute.
-Participates in national and international medical conferences.

Research Responsibilities:
-Participates in clinical, basic and translational research projects and publishes papers in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy in order to advance knowledge, improve the quality of post graduate education and contribute to the national and intentional recognition of KFSH & RC.

Administrative Responsibilities
-Undertakes the administrative duties assigned by Head of Section or Director of the Institute.
-Participates in all mandatory institute activities and serves on institute and hospital committees, as required.
-Assists the institute in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that help maximize the utilization of all resources within the institute and across the hospital.
-Abides by the current hospital and medical staff by laws, all relevant rules, regulations and policies an keeps updated of any changes that might occur.
-Performs any other related duties, as assigned.

Airline Tickets: You will be entitled to both Initial Hire and Repatriation tickets to and from your point of origin. In addition, each year if you are there for more than 1 year you will be entitled to a free round-trip annual leave ticket to your point of origin.

Service year bonus:
One month salary on completion of year two and yearly thereafter paid at the end of each contract year.

End of contract bonus:
This is a one-time payment made upon your final departure from the Hospital and is accrued throughout your tenure within the Hospital. Severance pay accrues at a rate of 15 days. pay for each of your first four years and 30 days. pay for the fifth and subsequent years.

Vacation/ Annual leave:
You are entitled to receive total paid leave entitlement of 54 days/year is divided as follows:
36 days paid annual leave (accrued 3 days/month); can be utilized after the completion of 90 day probationary period.
17 days annual paid holidays (07 Eid AI-ftr & 10 Haj Holiday
1 day paid National holiday.

Emergency Leave:
In the event of death of an employee.s natural parent, spouse or child:
All employees will be eligible for 7 days leave with pay. Flight ticket reimbursed.

Sick Leave:
In the event of on-work related disability, injury or illness:
An employee shall be granted full pay for a maximum of 30 calendar days and 75% of full pay for an additional 60 calendar days in each service year.
Any sickness in excess of two (2) days shall require an acceptable medical verification of illness; otherwise such absence will be treated as leave without pay.

Probationary period:
The first 90 days is your probation period. You will be expected to undertake basic competencies and unit based competencies during this time. The competencies are outlined in the Job Description. After the 90 days there still will be unit specific competencies as you reach skills level. An strong mentorship / preceptorship programme is in place for new hires.

Free Hospital Housing:
You are entitled to receive either free fully furnished shared hospital housing or a housing allowance (some restrictions apply). All utilities are paid by the hospital with the exception of your personal telephone calls, cable TV and internet access in the home.

Medical and Dental Treatment:
You are entitled to Medical Care through the Family Medicine Department. Dental Treatment is on an emergency basis only.

Recreational Facilities:

Seven (7) years of training in specialty or sub specialty plus post-training experience required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. Academic and research background is desirable.
